Mr. & Mrs. Daun and their Bloomington, Indiana intimate wedding day have me reflecting on how special a small wedding can be. These two (among so many others) have been complete troopers. They’ve postponed their wedding reception celebrations for next summer but could not wait to get married! I was so thankful to be a part of this intimate day, with just their immediate family and several in the bridal party who could make it (although there were some major MVPs missing).

The Wedding Day

Abby and Tyler started their day getting ready at an Airbnb in town and chose to have their first look at Renwick Village. We continued portraits for the day at their “would have been” reception venue, Deer Park Manor. The day was slow, relaxing, memorable and so much fun! Something I’ve learned through the COVID season of wedding re-planning is that community steps in. Abby and Tyler have so many people who love them, that through together a quick wedding day. A dear family friend of Abby’s made her bouquet, boutonnières, and arrangements for the ceremony. They were stunning. The couple had Dylan Lee Videography apart of their day, and I absolutely loved working with this husband/wife duo.

Meet the Happy Couple

Abby and Tyler are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I felt honored to have been present for their private vows after their first look, where I really got a sneak peek into their hearts. Their love for one another is timeless and rich. Hearing them share what they look forward to in marriage and what they love about one another helped me remember how friendship really is the glue to a healthy marriage. Tyler’s love for Abby and promise to kiss her every time he comes home “even if it’s a trip to the grocery” is a picture of the seeds they’ve sown into their friendship.

I can’t wait for these two to not have to say good-bye to one another (as engagement has been primarily long-distance with Tyler in D.C) No more communicating over FaceTime and phone calls. Congrats to the newlyweds, Mr & Mrs. Daun and their Bloomington, Indiana intimate wedding, and cheers to no more goodbyes and lots of kisses!
